Just checked our photographer’s Facebook site to find a sampler from our wedding photos – woo 🙂
Not decided if I like the vintage processing or not – it’s really excellent in some of the shots though and I love the one with the texture.
That chick in the white dress looks HOT! Shame there’s that slightly chubby bearded bloke in 1/2 the shots though, he looks well dodgy!
We’ll get an album of proofs and some prints done – maybe in a few years we’ll save up for a wedding album too – they look lovely all done properly, but its a lot of money for us right now.
so, for your viewing pleasure –

So, you’ve all been wondering about the wedding (well, mostly Lauren 🙂 ) – so here goes..
Well, it was amazing. It flew past so quickly though as I knew it would, but I have some awesome memories from the day
We held it outside by the lake as we had wanted, it was only 30 degrees so not too hot.
Henry was the first to walk down from the house to the gazebo by the lake, followed by Ella then Piper, Anja, Larissa then Jay, escorted by her Dad.
Jay looked amazing, so beautiful, I’m sure any photos of me would just have me grinning like a loon 🙂
The service was short and sweet, I loved the vows and the exchange of rings – I just remember focussing on Jay’s big blue eyes and grinning lots
The kids did us proud, Henry was so good, standing by either Pete or me very patiently and the girls looked and behaved beautifully
We walked up to the house after the ‘I will’s’
and had some champers and did some formal photos. It started to heat up a bit at this point – over 30 degrees in a suit or wedding dress is pretty warm.
We did a load of pics with Shelly from Smile Photography, then went for a 10 minute chill before making our grand entrance for the reception.
The food was lovely, they catered for Jay with a lovely vegan dish, but she was a bit hot to eat much.
We did the speeches after dinner was over, eating up our bar tab with more champers – *hic*. My speech went ok, my voice was totally shot from the virus I picked up from either my sister, my kids or the plane earlier in the week, so I had to keep it really short. Pete, Jay’s ex and my best man (I get on really well with him, he’s a top bloke!) did a wonderfully sincere speech that I’ll never forget.
Then we cut the cake (and very yummy it is too – we have a whole tier left to eat – chocolate mudcake – non nom :))
We did the first dance to ‘little waltz’ by Basia Bullat – check it out if you’ve not heard it – which was lovely – everything just vanished apart from Jay and I slowly twirling for those 3 minutes
The rest of the night was spent chatting everyone, putting Henry to bed and unwinding..
Professional photos will follow in a few weeks or so – here’s a couple that got taken whilst Shelly was doing her thing before the ceremony
All in all, it was a most excellent day and I’m still grinning about it all 🙂
Love you, Jay xx

Jay just got a text from one of her former work colleagues saying that she can’t come to the wedding tomorrow after all – she has to work.
Well sod right off – you RSVP’d (eventually – another really long story) which meant you were ok to come. We put in final numbers and we’re paying $200 for your food.
But somehow, a last minute offer of work comes on Boxing Day which takes precedent over over wedding to which you had already agreed to attend. You didn’t have to work, it would have been easy to say “no, sorry, can’t do it today, I’m going to a wedding” Thats what most people would have done.
But no, apparently in your world, its fine to send a single brief text to the bride the day before saying you’re not coming.
Also – you’re a swimming teacher and its a Sunday right after Christmas – surely there’s not so much work on that you cant attend the whole wedding? We’re not starting till 3:30 and dinner is at 6, I would have thought even if you did have work, that you could still attend.
So I can only conclude that its bullshit and I hate bullshitters, so you can stuff right off.
I cant believe we invited you over some of our other friends – we wont be making that mistake again

I forgot to write about this in the excitement of something or other..
Went shopping for wedding suits with my best man (Jay’s ex) on Saturday up in Perth.
The whole thing done and dusted in a morning including 2 coffees and a trip to Lomovember, a Holga and Lomo exhibition arranged by the fine chaps at Pigeonhole Awesome.
We now have matching fantastic dark grey pinstripe suits and gorgeous white shirts, just need for me to get a tie to go with the bridesmaid colours and some swanky shoes and its all good 🙂

No, not the High School Musical cheerleader-style TV show, the proper dance and jump around kind. Only not so much of the dancing. Or the jumping, come to think of it. I’m not much of a jumper really. There was hand clapping though, only in a manly kind of a way.
The subject of the excited hand clapping? my wedding ring arrived this morning in sunny Perth from San Diego – Kathleen @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/studiometalsmith makes some lovely stuff, including this 🙂
Its amazing in the flesh, very chunky and solid with such a nice finish – well worth every $
Not that long to go now..
