No, I didn’t get abducted by aliens (although I have a cool foggy pic). But where have I even been? Do blog platforms have relevance anymore, given the transition to face-o-gram or snap-tock? I think as a society we are increasingly crippled by inattention disorder – the addictive quest for new and shiny stimulus. If it takes longer than a minute to consume, it’s…
Oh dear, this blog has fallen behind If anyone is still there, I’m sorry! So, this post is a tale of the last 6 months or so in photo form..
We’d done this before, but we decided to go to Tonbridge and hire a rowing boat and row around the river. It was a much nicer day than last time (it rained on us before!) and Ella being a bit older this time, took the oars and rowed us around!
After a few days We were thinking of places we hadn’t been to that weren’t too far away and we settled on Scotney Castle. It was about 40 minutes drive and despite being a beautiful Sunday after a few days of rain, we managed not to get too caught up in the traffic the notoriously busy roads that head down towards the south coast….
It was time to see the kids – been looking forward to this for ages! I was flying Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi in the UAE this time. I’d flown them once before and it was a pretty good experience, although the airport is pretty busy and claustrophobic if you’re not inside the gate. Waiting areas and toilets are not so good. But my transit…
As ever, all good things must come to an end – time was up and we had to pack up and go. We went out for a little wander before I drove the kids off home and played ‘Pooh sticks’ off a bridge over a little brook Simple things but such a lot of fun.
Gone past this place more than a thousand times and never even been curious to go in, but as we’ve done pretty every attraction within 50 miles, I was looking for something new. I saw it advertised on one of those ‘100 things to do in Kent’ websites and it looked interesting enough for a day out. The kids took a look at the…
Day of simple pleasures. Can’t always go out and do huge adventures and long days out – sometimes just staying local and doing simple stuff is needed. Last year we took a boat out and rowed down the river, this year, we played mini golf!
We had a few days of variable weather but really wanted to go to the beach with the entire family. My sisters have turned into our parents and always insist on getting places super early in order to get a good spot good parking etc. I begrudgingly accept there is logic in it, but at 7am as we set off for Botany Bay near Margate,…
My trip over top the UK is really about one thing. Family. Centered around my kids, of course, but also seeing my parents and my sisters and their kids. Feels good to get together and I’m glad we usually get lots of time together.
