Bits and Bobs

Merry Christmas, dear readers!

So – I’m taking some time out chilling after a lovely morning and lunch with the family on this perfect Perth Christmas summer day.

Being born in the northern hemisphere, Christmas in summer will always feel wrong, despite it being an almost perfect day – clear blue skies, 30 degrees and light breeze.

Winter sunset.

As winter approaches, the skies become awesome again.

Not that clear blue skies with endless sunshine over summer isn’t awesome – it’s just that autumn and winter do sunsets better.

I was on the roof at the weekend, clearing out the guttering, as you do (well, as we do here in Australia – the gutters are stupidly designed and can’t cope with the rainfall we have) and I spotted that the sky was looking pretty interesting out over the ocean (which I can see from the top of my roof!) so I packed up the ladder and headed out to the beach. Jay burned her hand picking up a pyrex dish from the oven with an oven glove that had the heat resistant properties of a wet tissue and has been stomping around with her hand packed in ice all evening.

So when the sunset started to look promising I suggested we go to the beach and get some air and chill for a bit.

Speaking of chill, even though it was warm out,  her hand being packed in ice kinda made her cold, so whilst I took photos, she sat shivering on the sand- LOL!
