So it’s been very wet here recently. Deluges of biblical proportions kind of wet. It’s good, the dams need it – although very wet winters do create bushfire fuel problems for the summer. Anyways, it was very foggy/misty here after a very wet week and I decided to get off my fat arse and go take some pictures up by the local dam.
No, I didn’t get abducted by aliens (although I have a cool foggy pic). But where have I even been? Do blog platforms have relevance anymore, given the transition to face-o-gram or snap-tock? I think as a society we are increasingly crippled by inattention disorder – the addictive quest for new and shiny stimulus. If it takes longer than a minute to consume, it’s…
As you may remember, my X100 was totalled when I was hit by a rogue wave at Point Peron a few months ago. I had it checked out by an authorised camera repairer, but no surprises, it was properly dead. But I’m insured, so thanks to RAC, it only took a short while before I had a cheque in my hands and I could…
First, I’d just like you all to notice for the record that this the second post in a row that hasn’t featured anything motorbike related. But this is camera related! The X100. I truly love this little camera. It looks utterly fabulous and takes brilliant pictures. I did have to upgrade the firmware to the latest version as the original settings meant it did…
I swore I’d use my film cameras loads. And I meant it. The trouble is, well, I’m slack. And I want instant results dammit! Pathetic.
I took the little LX5 out in Perth today. Just pointing it at people, things, places – it’s awesome. It’s fast, small, discrete, lightweight – the perfect little camera for every day.
So as you all know by now, it was my birthday and I got an awesome camera. Well, as tradition has it, I’ve been taking photos left right and centre – wife, children, pets, outside, everything. Nothing is safe. I’d do the same with the big cameras too, but it’s more fun with the little sneaky silent one – muhahah! Its a long weekend…
I got some more films back and I love them. The negatives are gorgeous but scans themselves weren’t brilliant. A little nip and a tuck and some removal of dust and fluff from the jpegs and I have a load of shots I’m really happy with. I took a bunch with the Holga again – its one of those cameras that when you get…
So, after my last post, I thought I’d show you the difference between the silver shade Impossible Project film and the regular (but now out of date) original Polaroid film.
I love Fremantle. It’s the closest thing to a town with charm here. For all the beauty and space and cleanliness of Western Australia, its all a bit new, which means that most places near here are modern and somewhat lacking in character. Ok, totally lacking in character. Perth is the same, most of it is pretty new, and the bits that are older…
