Holidays – day 3

It’s funny – it only takes a week or two and suddenly it’s hard to remember what order things happened in! Day 3 we got up early and went to see the Ngilgi Cave which was just round the corner from where we were staying.

Holidays – day 2

Due to various dietary needs and restrictions, we’d had to plan ahead a little with eating out.  We’d booked ourselves into Hay Shed Hill winery for breakfast and for a late lunch in Settlers Tavern in Margaret River and then planned out a sort of route between feeds to take in the must see sights.

Holidays – day 1

Firstly, many apologies for the slight absence of posts – I have been a number of things 1. sick 2. working like a bastard 3. on holiday All of the above have pretty much prevented any kind of activity, photography, red wine consumption and time and/or access to a computer. Anyway, you now have my undivided attention for a while 🙂

Saturdays in Perth

Jay and I try to get out for lunch at least once a month when the kids are with their father.  Not that we don’t take them for lunch too, but we try to take the ‘us’ time when we have the opportunity. Busy lives, work and travel means it would be all to easy to not get a minute to ourselves.

More travels

And before I was even over my travel fatigue from going to England, I had to go back to Brisbane.  Ok, I do get to fly business class, but it’s only a small consolation on a 4:30 hour flight – there’s still the stuck in the seat feeling that no matter what class of travel you can afford (perhaps a first class suite cabin…

Trip to the UK – part 5

And then it was the very last day – we packed up and I drove them back to their house.  They were very pleased to see their mum of course – no matter how much fun we’re having, they always like to be back home. As luck would have it, Ella had a ballet lesson that afternoon, which meant I could (finally) watch her…

Brisbane – Part 3

Another day hard at work deserves a little adventure when it’s all done, so I made a beeline for door and went for a long walk. This time, I turned left out of the office and over the Kurilpa pedestrian footbridge over the Brisbane River and down onto the Southbank. This might have been a tiny mistake, as I was in my suit and…

Brisbane – Part 2

Well well – thanks to being featured on WordPress ‘freshly pressed’, I’ve had about a billion views, comments, likes and subscriptions on this blog compared to the usual regular trickle.   So many new faces – thank you all for coming 🙂 I suppose you’re all expecting frequent new and exciting content aren’t you?  Hope I don’t disappoint! Anyhoo, after a busy day working, I…

Adventures with work

I posted about this kind of thing before. Sometimes I get to travel for work and whilst it mostly sucks, it does mean I get to see places for free.  I don’t get very long to myself to explore and often I’m not really in the mood to go wandering around on my own, but I do get a flavour of lots of interesting…

loading film

I’ve had a bit of a time off shooting film of late. Sure, I’ve taken the odd shot and used the Polaroid a little, but nothing major for months.  And I really miss it. Now my D300 is in the shop for repairs and I wont have it back for a while, I’ve got the time and inclination to shot a load of medium…
