I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but we get some awesome storms here in Western Australia. They are mostly just packed with rain and wind, but from time to time, they come bearing violent electrical goodies.
So when I heard the rumbles of thunder across the ocean, naturally, I went down to check it out.
I first went down there with just my phone camera, not expecting to see much, but the storm front was perfectly positioned and lightning was really clear.
I shot some video on the phone, which came out pretty well -here’s some screenshots (resolution is not super high for this..) – was pretty impressive.
I nipped back home to get the trusty X100T and a tripod – the storm was positioning itself perfectly from my vantage point.
Setting it up for 30 second shots – I was hopeful that I could capture some good lightning.
Was pretty chuffed with how these came out..
Stunning image. I love how you’ve caught the rain moving across and the clouds above.
