Sorry for the slight delay – I have succumbed to the rather nasty flu that is doing the rounds here in Perth.. I dropped the kids back off in Suffolk and said our goodbyes and given a minor miracle with the lack of weekend traffic, was back home in Kent nice and early with time to kill for a change. The weather was beautiful…
Whilst Deal was fun in a kind of ‘faded English seaside town with castles’ kind of a way, we were a bit unsatisfied and it was only just early afternoon and the sun was shining. As we drove through Dover, I saw a sign for ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ and made an executive decision.. detour time. So we went up the steep hill past…
It was getting towards the end of the trip and I wanted to take the kids somewhere different. The day wasn’t going to be ideal weather wise early on, but it was promising to clear up late morning and be a beautifully sunny summer day. It was about 40 minutes drive and despite being a beautiful Sunday after a few days of rain, we managed not to get too caught up in the traffic the notoriously busy roads that head down towards the south coast….
We took the kids to a local indoor climbing place in Tonbridge – they have all these really cool climbing challenges for all sorts of levels of ability with a special ‘auto belay’ line thingo that means they can climb high without worrying about falling off; the thing always lowers you gently to the ground very cool and safe.
It’s that time of year again – back to Blighty to see my beautiful children. 2 weeks in Kent, chilled out, plenty of fun and hopefully some lovely British sunshine. Still chasing kilograms and fitness, so I’m bringing my running gear and going to eat as healthily as I can. This time I flew via Dubai on Emirates. I’ve been that route twice…
