Children are like dogs.
They need walking every day to ensure they have burnt off excess energy and are ready for some quiet time.
They also make good pets, but lets not tell social services, Henry is just getting used to his cage…
Anyway, walking is something I dont do enough of, but here, the thousands of footpaths that criss cross the countryside pretty much demand to be explored.
First up – we went out with the cousins – first up to the park in the village. Plaxtol is a very pretty place and always nice to have a walk on a sunny summer day.
And off to Knole Park in Sevenoaks, where the kids could run free and play to their hearts content. I love Knole. Been there a thousand times (maybe) over my life and it never gets old. Places to run, jump, walk, hide and get away from everything – something for everyone. Some days it can be busy, but its so big that unless you’re up by the house, you’re unlikely to meet too many other people on the myriad of paths and tracks. Plenty of deer to spot too. But then you’d expect to see some, it being a deer park and everything!
We stopped off for some yummy lunch in the town centre before heading back home to rejoin the cousins for more play. Its a hard life being a kid on the summer holidays!
Next up – three walk up a bloody big hill.
