I went out for a ride on the bike in the afternoon sunshine last weekend. Not too hot, not too cold – perfect. I’ve taken snapshots, proper pics, family pics and on-the-way-home-iphone photos of every inch of the local landscape (or so it would seem) – so these are just repeats. But its so pretty, so my care factor is low 😉
It’s heating up here at last. This year the temperatures have been stubbornly slow to get going, with only a fews days so far over 30C. I’d even go as far as saying that a few days last week were actually chilly. But the last couple of weekends have been just about perfect. Perfect for a few photos with the new X100T too. Last weekend, I went…
I’ve been off the bike for serious rides for a bit due to winter being crappy (see radar pic!) and very wet and the fact that I’m a big wuss and also I was back in England (as you may have gathered) But there was a serendipitous break in the weather, I didn’t have any commitments and my family were all stuck into art or TV shows…
My time with the kids was coming to a close, so we went back to our favourite place – the woods – for another walk around and one last go on the rope swing. These woods are a part of me, having grown up there and spent so much of my childhood and teenage years criss crossing every nook and cranny. And for my…
The weather was a bit hit and miss, but I found a day that might suit our needs perfectly. It was scheduled to be warm and sunny in the morning and early afternoon, clouding over from the west, with rain in the late afternoon. So we headed as far East in Kent as you can go (almost) to make the most of the…
The kids were a bit bored and we were struggling to think of something to do. As I was looking at the map I had an idea. I’d been reading Topsy and Tim books to Henry at night (books I and my sisters had as children) and one of them involved boats and locks and stuff. The river Medway isn’t too far away and…
One thing I’ll never tire of is walking around the village where my parents live. The kids were relatively disinterested at first, but they soon got into it and we had a blast walking around, looking at the alpacas in the field (there were there 2 years ago too) and also peering at the posh houses.
Hello dear friends! Apologies for the brief lull in activity – I’m about to make up for lost time, so bear with me. I’ve been away, back to Blighty, to the Motherland to see my children. Doesn’t seem that long ago that they were here in Perth with me. Time flies.
It’s cold. I know – you’re thinking – bah, Australia, cold? Bullshit! Well I’ve got some news for you – Australia has winter just like everyone else. And sometimes, it’s really not very warm. Like 0 degrees just before sunrise. And possibly single digit daytime temperatures (although, to be fair, in Perth these are mercifully rare). I lot of Northern Hemisphere dwellers are laughing…
When the sun goes down, the commuters decamp and make their way back to their burrows, leaving behind them only echoes, shadows, mysterious creatures, dark impenetrable pools and a skyline full of eyes, watching out for the unwary. Charlene, Flemming and I were on a mission to capture the city as it transitioned from its bright safe sunny side into a dark underworld full of shadows.
