Now Jay’s computer has stuffed up. Every day it fails to go to sleep correctly, fails to wake up, throws random issues with connecting to the wireless router, browsing, Word runs like a dog (whereas the Austin computers $500 cheap and cheerful budget tower I bought for the kids it runs fine) and generally its crap. Thanks Dell, thats the first and last time…
I adore this blog http://fuckyouverymuch.dk/ I know it has a rude word in it, but I think its very clever. A little visual journey through the eyes of a young couple in simple photos and very few words. I wish I’d though of it, that’s how good I think it is.
Work has slowed down a bit again, leaving me with time to do some self paced learning, demo creation, reading etc etc. But I’m at a loss as to *what* to focus on. There are a million things on the go in IT that might be useful to me at any one time, so where do I start? Google Wave, BPM, TOGAF, SOA, perhaps…
One of the main reasons we went off to York (apart from to see the place) was to see the rolling fields of canola (rapeseed) in bloom. To the east of Perth, there’s a big forest which is the main water catchment area for all the drinking water for the sprawling metropolis – its pretty big, extending 300km north to south (actually, it goes…
York is a heritage town in the wheatbelt to the east of Perth. Its a fair old trek from where we live by the sea, so we packed the camera bags and headed out early as its a couple of hours drive through the forest and out into the fields. On the way we stopped off at a place that makes it own olive…
so, after yesterday’s post – I have finally finished a 24 shot roll in the Trip 35. I’ll send it and the upteen rolls of 120 film off to be developed on Monday – hell, I might even take them in in person. Was a busy work day – the car was playing up as the garage somehow stuffed up tightening the new alternator…
Still havent managed to finish a film in the Trip 35. I must go out and take more photos with it or I’ll never see what it can do!! Usage wise – it was a star at Araluen and in Perth when I took it out. Simple, focus and click. And its so light. I think I’ll get some Ilford black and white and…
I love my home office -the window faces west, which is in the direction of the weather for the most part. Being close to the ocean – only a few hundred metres – we get storms coming rattling in fast, and from my study window I get to see the fronts rolling in. Today we’ve been getting sunshine, then skies like this…
Processed a few photos from Araluen – did them in a Holga style, as thats my current obsession ๐ Cant wait to finish up the last few shots on the Holga and send them off – wonder what delights it’s captured this time
Having been couped up for months due to illness, bad backs, non-stop rain and generally having other things to do, we decided to plan a proper day out. Jay got lots of yummy food for a picnic on Friday, we programmed the GPS (thats a story for later on..) and this morning, headed off to Araluen Botanic Park http://www.araluenbotanicpark.com.au. Its about an hours drive…
